Unplug and Listen

Growing up without social media, Facebook, twitter, snapchat and all other forms of apps that are on smart phones; was an all time engaging experience. Although I stuck to reading novels in between my high school periods or on my free time I think theres always been a sense of urgency to be present, especially in todays society. To look up and not down at others or at a screen because every single interaction you have with someone creates a ripple. This past week has shown me a lot about the relationships i'm involved in and continue to support. To the ones that go out of their way to spread love, I thank you. I love all my friends so dearly, and in different ways but what do you do when social media just pesters a relationship you're involved in? It could be a lover who isn't giving you attention because they rather live through others' social lives. Or maybe a friend that when you're with them you couldn't feel more lonely because your voice only echoes in your ears and goes right through theirs without a sound. I'm here to say we've all been there. It can be frustrating, infuriating but it could also be the best thing. You find out who really listens when you unplug. Maybe it's you who needs to do the unplugging. It's so important these days to be present because years from now who knows if instagram, snapchat or whatever app that consumes your day to day activities will even matter then and it probably won't. What does matter though is what you do with it because, it can instantly be gone tomorrow.  Find the people in your life who make you forget about looking at your phone. You can spare a few hours to unplug and listen. You'll be amazed at what happens when you do.

I put this on my Instagram caption the other day and was amazed at the amount of people that actually took the time to read my caption. Thank you.

"Your life is about breaking your own limits and outgrowing yourself to live YOUR best life. You are not in competition with anyone else; plan to outdo your past not other people" // it's definitely so easy to compare yourself and your path to others who you think are outdoing you, but always remember that nothing is as it seems and NO ONE can be a better you, than YOU - @dancingwithflyingcolors

Thanks again for reading and know if you need anyone to listen my email is always open.

Hello lovely readers I hope you've been having a great week so far. If you haven't keep hanging in there, something amazing is right around the corner for you; I definitely believe that. I am if not obsessed madly in love with bomber jackets, different jackets and all around funky COLORFUL and fun jackets. The second I saw this one from PRESS I knew I had to have it. From the silky sleeves, to the color palette and glitter, yes glitter. It's been my latest go to since LA weather has been a little funky lately (DOOM +GLOOM) this jacket has been perfect. I paired it with some crochet, and colorful eyewear for a fun colorful look. I know i'll be wearing this jacket all the time it's a must-have piece and completes any look. So I call this particular look VIBES VIBES VIBES - and posted up in front of one of my favorite walls in Abbot Kinney blvd. It's one of the coolest little windows and never fails to disappoint. Shop the look below and be sure to follow my Instagram for more looks + behind the scenes adventures. @dancingwithflyingcolors xoxo

Love Wyld, LIVE WYLD

There's nothing more invigorating, frustrating and intoxicating than doing what you love. I mean that in the best way possible. What is it that you love or are passionate about? Doesn't it drive you crazy in all the best ways? That's what i'm going through at this moment. If you don't know I started a line with my best friend called Live Wyld. It's been quite the experience and quite the start. I've been from everywhere to loving it, to questioning what i'm even doing, it to loving it again. That's the beauty of art though it's constantly making you feel all of these intense emotions. Well, each jacket is like a child to me it's always bittersweet sending them to their new owners. The ones that end up sticking around I question why their still not claimed by a home, but then I remember i'm incredibly lucky to be channeling my art and creativity. I'm also incredibly grateful for the ones that continue to believe in me, from my dear friends who wear their Live Wyld creations on the daily...to customers who are all around the world to the strangers on the street. It's a bumpy ride being a small business owner and i'll continue to share this process with you guys. I'm wearing a design I created for myself particularly for Coachella. I'm obsessed with butterflies so of course had to make myself a hand painted butterfly. Also if you didn't know I free hand all of the designs...it's scary but every design is hand drawn in a sketchbook then created. It's my favorite part seeing them go from paper to jacket. I hope you check out my site and hey maybe you'll end up in one of my creations one of these days.
